Mount bromo is one of an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia. This mountain has a height of  2399 meters above sea level and it is located in four districts, Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and Malang. Bromo mountain is famous as a major  tourist attraction in East Java. As a tourist attraction, Bromo becomes attractive because of  its status as an active volcano.

The body shape of Mount Bromo is linked between the valley and the canyon with the caldera or the sea of ​​sand covering about 10 square kilometers. Mount Bromo has a crater with a diameter of ± 800 meters (north-south) and ± 600 meters (east-west). While the danger area in the form of a circle with radius 4 km from the center of the Bromo Crater. For Tengger people  mount bromo is believed to be a sacred  mountain. Every year Tengger people hold Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo ceremonies. Which is held every year on a full moon according to Javanese calendar

The origin of  the kasodo ceremony stems from the story of a princess named Roro anteng and her husband named Joko seger. They are a tengger region leader. After marriage they do not have a child so they pray to the God in mount bromo to give a child. from their plea God gave 25 children and the gods obliged them to sacrifice the 25th child, named Kusuma to be thrown into the crater of Mount Bromo.

Up to now Tengger community still perform the ceremony which is named Kasodo ceremony, they perform the ceremony by throwing the crop to the bromo crater as gratitude to the God. besides kasodo ceremony that attracts tourists to the bromo mount  is a sea of ​​sand, Bromo sunrise is also a mainstay of  the mountain tour of  Bromo, in the cool mountainous  nature, we can see the deserts and grasses are vast.
